Is the Bible the Word?
The Bible claims to be the authoritative Word of God. But can it be trusted? The Bible is the most influential book in human history, as well as the most recognized. It records over 4,000 years of human history, offering answers to some of life’s deepest questions.
So why is it often misunderstood? Some dismiss the Bible as unscientific or historically unreliable. Others accept it purely on faith. Many reject it without evidence, and many believe it without evidence.
Scripture urges you to do neither but, rather than trust the internet, take time to explore the most powerful book ever written. And give God room to transform your life.
Test all things; hold fast what is good – 1 Thes 5:21
Wouldn’t God want us to understand His plan?
If God is all‑powerful, wise, and loving, wouldn’t He want us to understand His plan? Wouldn’t He naturally reveal His existence, His purpose for creating us, and the path to a full and meaningful life? He didn’t leave humanity in the dark. He wants us to know Him. Through the Bible, we learn why we exist. Scripture gives laws and principles that lead to real fulfillment, lasting peace, and the kind of happiness only God can provide. In His love, God made His truth accessible. He inspired His servants to record the foundation of knowledge, preserving it in the Holy Bible — His instruction book for all people.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim 3:16-17)
Why do so few really understand the Bible?
The Bible was written over over the course of 1,500 years, give or take, by more than 40 authors. Yet, it remains internally consistent and free of contradiction. Archaeology continues to confirm its historical accuracy. Even so, many still reject its claims. If God gave us His Book so we could know His plan, why don’t more people recognize the Bible as the foundation of life? Humanity has drifted from truth. Instead of letting Scripture interpret itself, people rely on personal ideas, assumptions, and human logic. When we read the Bible through our own filters, we miss what God actually says.
The Bible is God’s revealed truth.
Foundation of the most essential knowledge we can possess. When we honestly examine Scripture and set aside our own assumptions, we begin to uncover God’s answers for our purpose and destiny. When we honestly examine Scripture and set aside our own assumptions, we begin to uncover God’s answers for our purpose and destiny. In its pages, God declares that He alone is the One who raises and removes kings and nations (Psalm 76:6–7; Daniel 2:21), executes His judgments throughout history (Daniel 4:35; Jeremiah 27:5), and foretells the rise and fall of cities and empires with perfect accuracy (Isaiah 44:24–28).
No other book has predicted world conditions centuries in advance. No other book explains the cause of human suffering or reveals the hope of a transformed future when Christ reigns on the earth. Nearly one‑third of Scripture is prophecy, including more than 125 in the Old Testament. Not only prophecies about the Messiah but many more describing the future of the world. Prophecy stands as powerful evidence that God is the supreme Author and Originator of the Bible.
You can put the Bible to the test!
One of the strongest proofs of the Bible’s legitimacy is simple: living by God’s Word brings real blessings. God’s way works. And He invites us to hold Him to His promises (Malachi 3:10). Our calling is to yield to God’s instruction and release our pride. Scripture exposes the flaws in our thinking and reveals the true condition of the human heart (Jeremiah 17:9–10; Psalm 14:3). That honest clarity is the beginning of a new, better life built on truth.
God’s Word cuts deep, revealing what lies within. But through that correction, the path to peace, joy, and abundance becomes clear. And when we take the truth of Scripture seriously and live by every word (Luke 4:4), we discover a powerful relationship with our Creator and find the answers people spend a lifetime searching for.
